Float away on a page!

For those with older children, it should come to no surprise that the next book  I am recommending is the Magic Tree House series. This series has been around since I was little and it depicts one of the greatest strengths children have, imagination. Every new book is a new adventure that follows two siblings on their travels through space and time. This series is a great pick for the kids who are ready to move on from picture books.

Stories are a child's best friend

With the theme of February being love, I chose a story that encompasses the entirety of love, flaws and all. Though this story is quite sad,it also shares the feelings of loving someone so much that you would give up your entire self to make that other person happy. The Tree loves the Boy so much that she willingly lets him cut her down to make him happy. And no matter what he takes from her she is happy as long as he is happy. If that isn't the most pure form of love I do not know what is. So please enjoy a story that will make your heart grow two sizes after reading it.

Willy Nilly Silly Old Bear!

I just had to share this with all of you beautiful Word Painters! I hope you enjoy!

Pause, Breathe, Read

My second story recommendation is Winnie The Pooh. This series of short stories about a little boy and his stuffed animal bear is very near and dear to my heart. I grew up with these wonderful little tales and I think it represents a part of life that is slowly fading away. In a time where the majority of people spend their days staring at tiny screens the human imagination is slowly slipping away. So take a moment to read with your child or even by yourself and fall in love with the made up world of a boy and his toys. And maybe, just maybe you will be inspired to create an imaginary world too.
Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh?" he whispered."Yes, Piglet?""Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's hand, "I just wanted to be sure of you.”

" A book is a present you can open again and again."

The Tales of Beedle the Bard are written by J.K. Rowling and are one of the best collections of short stories I have read that are for children. It is no secret that I am a fan of Harry Potter so my opinion is a tad biased, but this is truly a great way to introduce your child to the magic of Harry Potter without having to crack open one of the 800 or so paged books in the series. Each tale is packed with humor, tragedy, and magical wizardiness! It isn't all just fun and games though, each story teaches an important life lesson that every child should learn. This makes these stories good for all ages, even adults! I highly recommend this book for a night of  exciting story time!

"The Tale of The Three Brothers" - J.K. Rowling

This is an audio/video of  "The Tale of The Three Brothers", the story I chose for Harry Potter Week. It is a fun little way to see what my kiddos have been reading about. Enjoy!
